[Dec 18] Faith in the Face of Genocide: A Community Conversation About #Aleppo

Dear community members, Assalamu Alaikum,
Yesterday prayers were held in Winnipeg mosques for the people of Aleppo and those suffering elsewhere. A moving talk and a beautiful Du’a from the prayer at the Grand Mosque have been uploaded to the MIA facebook page.
On Sunday, we invite you to another program, “Faith in the Face of Genocide“, in which we will hear from a number of speakers about how we can confront such tragedies and senseless violence. It also an opportunity to extend our support to local Syrians, many of whom have family and friends affected by these events.
What: Faith in the Face of Genocide: A Community Conversation
When: Sunday December 18, 6 pm – 7:30 pm.
Where: Manitoba Grand Mosque (2445 Waverley Street)
Speakers: Shaikh Ismael Mukhtar, Belle Jarniewski (Manitoba Interfaith Council), Nina Condo (Rawandan Canadian) and Serge Kaptigaine, genocide survivor from the DRC.
The event is free and open to the public. The admission fee is as heart that cares.
