The scope of study includes the reading of Qur'aan, the proper performance of Salaah, memorization of suraahs, the Tafseer of the Qur'aan, Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Islamic Studies (based on the age and understanding of the child).

Al-Hijra Islamic school was established in 1996 and is the first private school for Muslims in Manitoba.  It is recognized by the Manitoba Board of Education and is a member of the Federation of Independent Schools. This project is not owned or managed by the MIA.

Académie Islamique du Manitoba / Islamic Academy of Manitoba is a full time Islamic school that opened its doors in September 2003. École Sofiya School, for boys and girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6, is the elementary section of the Academy. Collège Sofiya is their newest addition, offering a high quality education to Grade 7 and 8 girls. This project is not owned or managed by the MIA.
