Inna lillahe wa Inna ilayhe Raaje’oun, wa Laa Howla wa Laa kuwwata illa billah al’aliy al Azeem. Br. Esmael Bavasah passed away in the St. Boniface Hospital on Friday night. He came to Winnipeg in 1965 and he was 92 years old. He has a wife named Lorraine and a son. May Allah Subhanahou wa Taala shower him with His mercy, forgive him and grant him Paradise, Jannatul Firdows, ameen and may He the Exalted grant his family patience and endurance. To Allah belongs what He takes and to Allah belongs what He gives. |

The Assiniboine Credit Union (ACU) is pleased to announce that it will soon have a new mortgage product tailored to the needs of the Muslim community. This Islamic mortgage contract was achieved under the leadership of Shaikh Hosni Azzabi, the Imam of the Manitoba Islamic Association, and his advisors, Br. Youssef Bezzahou and Br. Imran Khan AND in consultation with other reputed scholars from Canada and US.
Prior to the launch of the ACU Islamic mortgage in early 2010, ACU plans to hold one or more community workshops to explain the features of the product.
