(UPDATE) MIA “Generous we Flourish” Fundraising Dinner:

The MIA Fundraising dinner held on the 26th of May was a phenomenal success. By the grace of Allah close to $120,000 was collected. The spirit of community, generosity and sharing displayed during the fundraising was truly inspiring. By the grace of Allah this fundraising was another manifestation of a new sense of rejuvenation and revival of our great community. The MIA EC would like to sincerely thank all those who participated, donated, volunteered and served.

Job Posting – 2 Summer Student positions:

The MIA EC is pleased to announce the opening of two MIA summer student positions funded by the provincial government. These positions are: Youth Activity Coordinator and Green Space Enhancer. Scholarship Committee:

The MIA EC is also pleased to announce the re-establishment of the MIA Scholarship Committee. The scholarship is aimed at encouraging our young to pursue post secondary education and excel in their studies. The Scholarship Committee is currently made up from of the following members:

 
•    Dr. Reda Elgazzar
•    Dr. Donald Trim
•    Dr. Madjid Birouk

The committee encourages all donors to donate for this noble cause. MIA will issue tax deductible receipts for all donations received. MIA Care Takers:

MIA EC is pleased to announce the hiring of two part time care takers: Br. Arshad Ali and Br. Youssef Barir. Both care takers will look after both the Waverley and Hazelwood mosques. Their duties includes in addition to cleaning, doing some basic maintenance and ensuring safety of the premises. Both hired individuals have previous building maintenance experience.
