Eid al-fitr is on Friday September 10th, 2010

The Manitoba Islamic Association (MIA) in consultation with Imam Hosni are pleased to announce that Thursday, September 9th will be the 30th of Ramadan and Friday, September 10th will be the first day of Shawwal, the Day of Eid al-Fitr.   

We wish our community and all Muslims Eid Mubarak.

Prayer Mats
The hall is not carpeted.  Please remember to bring your prayer mats.

Imam Hosni's Explanation for the decision:
On Wednesday September 8 the moon was not/cannot be seen because it sets before sunset. Therefore, Thursday Sep 9th is the 30th day of Ramadan and the 1st day of Shawwal which marks the the start of eid ul-fitr is on Friday Friday Sep 10, 2010.
