MIA Electoral Update Dec 14 2011

ELECTION OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE
MANITOBA ISLAMIC ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED

The nomination period for the positions on the Executive Council closed at 12:00 pm (CST) on December 9, 2011. The following nominations were received:

• President – Ismael Mukhtar
• First Vice-President – Abdul Aziz
• Second Vice-President – Louay Alghoul
• Secretary – Osaed Khan
• Treasurer – Ahmed Durrani
• Executive Member – Tariq Mian
• Executive Member – Aladin Kasem

As none of the positions on the Executive Council are being contested, the nominated individuals noted above will be elected by acclamation effective December 18, 2011 to their respective positions on the Executive Council of the Manitoba Islamic Association Incorporated.

As a result of the election by acclamation, the vote that was to be held on December 18, 2011 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm (CST) at 2445 Waverley Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba is no longer necessary and has been cancelled.
