[Oct 14th] Potluck iftar on the day of Arafa
When: Monday, October 14th, 2013
Fasting on the day of Arafa is very highly recommended as per the hadith of the prophet (pbuh). This year the day of Arafa will occur on Monday, October the 14th.
An open potluck iftar will be held for the community at both the Grand mosque and Hazelwood mosques.
Similarly, an open free iftar will be held at the Winnipeg Central Mosque, organized by the Zubaida Talab Foundation.

[Oct 26th] MIA Eid Dinner: Volunteers We Regard
When: Saturday, October 26th, 2013
Time: 6:00 PM
Where: Winnipeg Grand Mosque (2445 Waverely)
The MIA EID Dinner will be held on Saturday October the 26 at the Grand mosque. The theme of this year’s dinner will be: “Volunteers We Regard”.
During the dinner some veteran volunteers of the community will be recognized.
Ticket Price: $25/Adult (>11 yrs old), Children minding (3-11 years old) available, $5 at the door

MIA land expropriation decision
After considering all relevant facts, alternatives and expert opinions, the MIA EC has decides to accept the ruling of the Land Value Appraisal Commission and settle the matter with the city.
The MIA EC would like to thank all members for their input, feedback and suggestions made in person by attending the open community forums or by e-mails.
