MIA Arabic Program
MIA Arabic program provides an Arabic and Islamic education within an Islamic environment while developing a love of Arabic language that enables our students to read and understand the Quran.
- To build Arabic language skills for the children in our community, through providing a quality Arabic and Islamic educational program
- To prepare students to become proficient at understanding the Islamic religion and reading the Quran
Since opening its doors to the Winnipeg Muslim community in 1993, Al-Noor weekend school has graduated hundreds of children and young Muslims. Al-Noor’s philosophy focuses on equipping its students with Islamic knowledge and a positive understanding of what it means to be Muslim in Canada. Many of the early students of Al-Noor are now parents and have enrolled their own children in the program.
Students at Al-Noor learn the essential beliefs of Islam, important chapters from the Qur’an, how to worship, and inspiring stories from the lives of the Prophets. Al-Noor’s team consists of dedicated teachers following an Islamic studies curriculum designed especially for weekend learning.
Al Fajr Quran Program
Al Fajr Quran Institute is a program aimed at helping families make the Quran an essential part of their lives. The institute offers a weekly recitation and memorization program for children aged 4 and up. The program takes place every Sunday two hours before Zuhr prayer. Several levels are available. The program is lead by the MIA prayer leaders and a core of dedicated volunteer teachers.
Al Fajr also offers an intensive “Hafiz” (memorization) program for more advanced students and adults. Students can graduate with memorization of the complete Quran in 5 years.
