The MIA EC would like to express its heartfelt deep sorrow and sympathy to the tragic death of the members of Hamid Farooq family. We express our condolences to Br. Farooq, the father, and sincerely pray to Allah to give him patience, solace and ease. We pray to Allah to shower the deceased with his mercy and forgiveness. We also pray for the young child in the intensive care unit for speedy and full recovery. We encourage all members of our community to pray for the family and donate generously by making cheques payable to: Manitoba Islamic Association or Islamic Social Services Association, note: Farooq family.

As part of developing a communication policy, MIA EC has directed all MIA officials and staff to communicate using only the official MIA e-mail address: miaonline.org. Accordingly, any e-mail communication sent showing an e-mail address other than the official MIA address, that e-mail wouldn’t represent MIA nor any of its officials or bodies. Further, all MIA officials, staff and volunteers are directed to express themselves professionally and cordially in accordance to Islamic etiquette of communication. Any breach of this policy will not be tolerated.

With the support of Manitoba Islamic Association, healthy activities for boys between age 9-14 are being initiated at the Waverly Mosque Gym. All boys born Between 01-16-2002 and 01-16-1997 are welcome to join the program on first come first serve basis.
- Activities: Basketball and Badminton
- Registration starts: Tuesday Jan17,2012 @ 5:30PM (Waverly Mosque Gym)
- Game Days: Every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-7:00 PM
- Games Season: Jan 17- March 22,2012
- Fees: $ 20.00/Child/season(cash only)
* Volunteers are welcome.
